Open Invite Links

One URL, any investor.

Until today, there were only two ways for your investors to access Venture OS:

  1. Organization owners log in, invite an email address individually or in bulk, and then sends the investor a link to join. With that link, the investor can immediately onboard and see the Deal they've been invited to.
  2. Organization owners send potential investors a link to request to join. The investor can click the link, sign up for an account, and then request to join the organization. The request then needs to be approved by the organization owner.

Both options have been great solutions for our customers— from startups grouping a few checks together via SAFE Plus, to some of the largest syndicates in venture bulk-inviting tens of thousands of their investors at a time.

However, we're seeing customers use our product in ways we didn't anticipate. As organizers progress in their fundraise, they're constantly being introduced to new people. And adding each new person to the organization one-by-one is a pain, while waiting for enough people to bulk-invite in one go can be a momentum killer for fundraising. And in a business where momentum is paramount and friction is the enemy, we knew we could do better.

So, we're introducing a new, simple way for investors to access the ability to invest in a deal: Open Links.

Open Links allow anyone to click a link and instantly access your deal— no pre-invitation required.

It's as simple as:

  1. Generate an Open Link.
  2. Send the Open Link to anyone as soon as they're interested in your deal.
  3. With that link, they have everything they need to see your data room, view the docs, commit to invest, and fund their commitment. All handled automatically via our automated deal execution software.

Small updates like this are just as important to us as big feature launches. We're always refining and polishing the experience to make things play a little smoother every week.

Almost every deal on Seed Labs uses the 506(b) Regulation D exemption, which allows for simpler reporting so long as the deal is not generally solicited to the public (think posting on Twitter or Reddit to announce that you're fundraising). Open Links fully keep in line with this guideline, requiring both the deal organizer and the investor to verify that they have established a pre-existing relationship prior to accessing the deal.
